About Us and Colorado

About Us and Colorado

Thanks for visiting our website colorado-springs-vacation.com, and for your interest in learning more about us.

My name is Kirk. My wife Kelly & I started this website because, like you, we love Colorado: the mountains, the sunshine, the blue skies, the friendly people.

We’re originally from the Midwest, and over the course of several years, we found that we always enjoyed our Colorado vacations the most.

We love getting outdoors, whether it’s hiking or snowboarding or camping. Eventually we started taking all of our vacations to Colorado.

One day we decided we needed to make the leap and move west. We moved to Colorado Springs because of its central location in the state and its close proximity to the mountains.

Pikes Peak can be seen from just about everywhere in “the Springs,” and it’s quite a view—purple mountain majesty and everything, just like the song.

Pikes Peak Garden of the Gods

Right away I posted some photos online to share this beauty with my family and friends. And soon we got into a pattern-- Kelly would plan trips around the city and state, and I would take pictures and write about our adventures.

Eventually these included city events like the Hot Air Balloon Festival and lists of Things to Do, and our favorite Restaurants.

I very quickly realized—hey, I’m writing a website about all the things I wished we’d known about Colorado Springs before we first visited. I should make a real website and share this information with everyone.

HOW WE MADE THE WEBSITE

To build the site, I found a system called Site Build It. They have all the tools needed to develop, build, and promote a website in one place. And they teach you how to turn what would be "just a website" into a home-based online business.

I suggest building a website about your favorite hobby, or area of expertise, to keep things fun and interesting. And if that means travel, check out these success stories about travel websites from all over the world.

Building an online business is a lot of work, but if you have a passion for your site’s theme, it can actually be a lot of fun. Now I get to write about Colorado every week and build my online business in the process.

If you’re looking for an alternate stream of income, or you want to recession-proof yourself from our unpredictable economy, consider starting an online business like this Colorado Springs Vacation site.

Read some more success stories about people who have used Site Build It and were able to leave their day jobs to work from home and pursue their true passions, like more family time, less stress, and peace of mind.

Kelly and I are also working towards a cabin in the mountains. ;)

Hope you enjoyed exploring this site as much as we enjoyed creating it. We welcome your comments and feedback.

Kirk & Kelly
