Green Mountain Falls hiking trail - Catamount

We've also gone hiking on the Catamount Trail a few times. If you drive to Green Mountain Falls and park on the main road across from the Church in the Wildwood, you can walk up Hondo Ave all the way to the beginning of the trailhead.
The hike up Hondo Ave itself is actually pretty scenic and good exercise. But the actual trail really climbs up the foothills, taking you past a waterfall first, where you'll do a little bit of rock scrambling, then through a series of switchbacks. It's pretty rocky up there, so watch your toes. You might want hiking boots for this one.
Once you reach the top of the foothill, the trail descends into a meadow valley which is full of wildflowers in the summer, and you can walk through the "Garden of Eden" along the creek and make your way to the reservoir.
A really beautiful hike. We always end up getting rained on when we hike this trail, but go figure, we're always there in the afternoon, when Colorado rainstorms are happy to remind you about Mother Nature. This is a 6-mile round trip. Have fun.
