Mariposa cabin in Green Mountain Falls

The road by the cabin that goes down into town.

Our family stayed at the Mariposa cabin for about a week, and we really enjoyed it. The cabin is nestled among pine trees and has a great deck with a wonderful view of the surrounding mountains where we enjoyed our morning coffee. Our four year old daughter delighted in watching the deer and other wildlife that came into the yard. She also enjoyed the little playground in Green Mountain Falls - a lovely little town that's only a short walk from the cabin. The cabin isn't very large, but it was just the right size for the three of us. It's not fancy, but
instead has a rustic cozy feel that is perfect for a mountain getaway.

EDITOR'S NOTE: Thanks, Kari, for your wonderful review of your time in Green Mountain Falls! As we've mentioned on our Mountain Towns page, GMF is a beautiful little hamlet up in the foothills west of Colorado Springs. It's only a 15-minute drive, the air is clear and pine-scented, and it really feels like another world up there. The little playground Kari mentioned has swings, a merry-go-round, a sandbox, and best of all, it's located right next to the pond in the center of town, so you can take strolls out to the gazebo, or sit by the water and gaze at the fountain. Right across the parking lot is The Green Mountain Falls Social Club, an outdoor, stream-side restaurant under the cottonwoods, which is quickly becoming one of our favorite dining escapes. A great place to eat if your lodging is up in Green Mountain Falls.
